Director's note Today we celebrated 15 years of our Centre work.
The relief at hearing that they have a legitimate medical condition must be massive.
For example, ADHD "...affects an estimated 4.1 percent of adults, ages 18-44, in a given year." It seems common sense that there would be an adult population with ADHD or ADD; after all, these children who have been diagnosed do grow up.
Luckily for these children however, their condition has been treated for years; unfortunately, there is a whole population of adults who were only diagnosed with ADHD or ADD after their childhood was long behind them.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD and attention deficit disorder, or ADD, affect millions of children and adults worldwide.
There are many treatments for the symptoms of ADHD and ADD, such as medications like Ritalin, however, these treatments do not support the parent caring for the child with this type of disorder, or even the spouse who is supporting their loved one with one of these disorders.
