Opening remarks The Chairperson welcomed the DBE delegation and the stakeholders, saying that the Committee is interested in the progress made by DBE since the 2001 inception of inclusive education.
DBE is also organising access to education for children with autism which is a challenging and complex condition.
DBE’s approach so far has been that each special school needs to open a unit for learners with autism and DBE is coming with a strategy together with NGOs to speed up the process.
