Account Edge Pro 20YY has a feature called the Migration Assistant.
The Migration Assistant will copy your customized forms, reports, letters and graphics from a previous version of Account Edge or First Edge to the Support / Custom Forms folder of Account Edge Pro 20YY **.
If you copy a TLG from your laptop back to your office computer, Quick Books will see that they don’t match and will “reset” the TLG file, lose all saved transactions in the log.
Charlie is a Certified Advanced Quick Books Pro Advisor. These were created in the 2015 software - but are the same process for all versions since 2012.Upgrading to Account Edge 2015 for Mac: (Although this video shows the upgrade process using the 2015 software - it is the same process for all versions for 2012 and later) Later versions of Account Edge Pro, Account Edge Network Edition, and Account Edge Basic use a Support / Custom Forms folder for company files, invoice, letter and spreadsheet templates.Another that is created has a file type of “TLG”, and that is the source of some confusion as well as some misunderstandings. As you use your Quick Books company file it is being updated with the transactions that you enter. In addition to updating the company file, Quick Books will save information about the transactions in the TLG or file.OK, we’ve established that the file gets large and takes up space (particularly if you are copying backups and this file to a CD or other media), that it might slow down performance as it gets larger, and that you have to pay money to be able to use it to recover data. It adds one more level of safety to your backup plan, in case you run into an odd situation.Sometimes, for example, you can have damaged data in your QBW file that just cannot be fixed. The damage may not be noticeable right away, so your daily backups might also be corrupted.A good QBB backup and matching TLG file may be what you need to get back to the point before the damage occurred, and then move forward to your current state.Look for Charlie’s articles in the Accountex Report blog, as well as his California Wildflower Hikes blog.If your postings are no longer updating in your Quick Books Desktop company file, then it is possible that your Quick Books Web Connector process is no longer running.
