The midwives work in one of four community teams across the area, with a linked midwife providing antenatal clinics for each GP practice either in the surgery itself or in a nearby Children’s Centre.
The Midwives also run a daily drop in service based at the hospital for both antenatal and postnatal appointments with no need to book in advance.
Through giving women the confidence to give birth naturally we find that many are able to avoid prolonged or difficult labours.
We equally strive to ensure that women with risk factors are fully supported throughout their pregnancies and receive an excellent standard of high risk care in labour with close monitoring from our consultant obstetricians and their teams.
